Rev. Msgr. Keith Joseph DeRouen
Rev. Msgr. Keith Joseph DeRouen was the fourth child born to parents Olita Mae LaBiche and Lucius Joseph DeRouen in New Iberia, Louisiana. Educated in the public school system through eighth grade, Monsignor then entered Immaculate Seminary. He graduated from Teurlings Catholic High School in 1975. He continued his seminary formation at St. Joseph Seminary College, when in 1979 he received a B.A. in Philosophy. He did his theological training at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. On 12 August 1983, Rev. Msgr. DeRouen was ordained to the Priesthood at St. John Cathedral in Lafayette. He served as Associate Pastor at St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Abbeville (1983-1986) and St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Crowley (1986-1989). He was appointed Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Church In St. Martinville (1989-1998) and then served as Rector of the Cathedral in Lafayette from 1998-2010. Monsignor is also the Diocesan Liturgist, a position he has held since 1985. On 21 June 2010 he became Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Church. As the pastor, of Our Lady Queen of Angels, Rev. Msgr. DeRouen writes, “It is a blessing beyond deserving to be here as Pastor. Following a beloved Pastor like Fr. Cremaldi who shepherded this local church for seventeen years, I am so grateful to Fr. Cremaldi for his good stewardship and loving example he left for me to follow.”
