Father Angelo Cremaldi Pastor
Father Angelo Cremaldi was born in Patterson, LA on September 11, 1934. His family were sugar cane farmers. He attended Patterson High School, graduating in 1952.
Deciding on the priesthood, he entered the college department of the Immaculata Minor Seminary, Lafayette, LA and finished in 1954. He then attended Notre Dame Major Seminary in New Orleans, LA and was ordained for the Diocese of Lafayette on June 4, 1960 by Bishop Maurice Schexnayder at St John the Evangelist Cathedral in Lafayette. He offered his First Solemn Mass at St Joseph Church in Patterson.
He served as associated pastor at Immaculate Conception Church, Lake Charles, LA for eight years under Msgr. Louis Boudreaux, its pastor; then 3 1/2 years with Auxililary Biship Warren Boudreaux and subsequently Msgr. Michael Benedict at St Peter's Church, New Iberia, LA.
As a pastor he served for a brief period at St Pius X, Lafayette; then at St Anne, Cow Island and its mission, Immaculate Conception, Forked Island, in rural Vermilion Parish for almost seven (7) years; at St Bernadette Church, Bayou Vista, for over fourteen (14) years; and since September 15, 1993 at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Opelousas, LA.

Msgr. Louis Joseph Melancon In-Resident Priest
Msgn. Melancon was born on September 15, 1935 in Plattenville, LA. He was ordained on May 25, 1963 at St. John's Cathedral in Lafayaette, LA by Bishop Maurice Schexnayder.
He attended Plattenville Elem. School in Plattenville, LA, St. Joseph's Seminary at St. Bernedict, LA, Jesuit High in New Orleans, LA, and Immaculata Seminary in Lafayette, La. In 1959 he earned a Degree in Philosophy and in 1963 a Degree in Theology, both at St. John's in Little Rock, AR.
His first pastoral assignment was at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA where he served as an assitant from 1963-1969. Here he also served as Chaplain of the AIC High School.
He then went to St. Henry's Catholic Church in Lake Charles, LA where he was an assistant from 1969-1971. In 1971 until 1973 he served as an associate pastor at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church also in Lake Charles.
In 1973 he appointed Spiritual Director at Immaculata Seminary in Lafayette, LA and from 1973 to 1976, he was served as both Director of Vocations and Founder and Director of the Permanent Deaconate Program at Immaculata.
In 1976 he served as co-pastor at Our Lady Queen of Heaven and as Pastor of Immaculata Conception Church in Lake Charles until 1980.
From 1980 to 1983 he was co-pastor at St. Raphael's in Iota, LA. From 1983-1991 he was pastor of St John Bosco in West Lake, LA and 1991-1997 pastor of St Theodore in Moss Bluff, LA.
He served as administrator of the Cursillo Center and spiritual director of Women's Cursillo in Prairie Rhonde, LA from 1995 to 2005.
In 1997 he was appointed administrator at St. Peter's in Grand Prairie, LA and held this position until 2001. From 2001 to 2005 he served as pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cameron, LA.
On Feb. 6, 1990, he was named Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II and Vicar of the West Deanery in August, 1992.
In 2005 he retired and is presently living in Opelousas where he serves as In-Resident Priest at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church.
